CINCINNATI—First Transit-managed Clermont Transportation Connection (CTC) is offering free rides on all of its fixed-route schedules on Thursday, June 17, in recognition of National Dump the Pump Day. Organized by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), National Dump the Pump Day encourages the use of public transportation, focusing on its monetary savings for residents and its effect on the environment.
“National Dump the Pump Day is a great way to educate the public about the benefits of CTC and public transportation,” said Ben Capelle, general manager, CTC. “We invite all current passengers and potential passengers to try the CTC on June 17. Our fixed-route service is very convenient, easy to use and is available in many locations throughout the county.”
According to the APTA, individuals can save more than $9,000 annually by using public transportation. In addition to savings, riders make a positive impact in their environment by significantly reducing carbon emissions and green house gases. For information about this event or how you can ride for free, visit www.ctc.clermontcountyohio.gov or www.apta.com.
